Tyler’s practice covers a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including residential and commercial real estate, share and asset purchases and sales, incorporations and commercial contracts, generally. Tyler’s clients include large corporations, small businesses and individuals. Tyler is also frequently retained to protect the interests of those involved in the construction industry, advising his clients on the various aspects of a construction project, including contract review, default and termination.

 

Tyler was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. Tyler attended the University of Western Ontario where he majored in Criminology and History and received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011. In 2016, Tyler attended the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree with a First Class.

 

While at law school, Tyler served on the committee for the University’s Pro Bono Group, and was the recipient of the University’s Pro Bono Group Award on account of his contributions as chair of the Group’s Streetlaw project – a project which involved going into the community to facilitate and deliver presentations on legal topics for schools and other community groups. Tyler was also active in the University’s athletic program, where he played goalie for the University’s hockey team.

 

Tyler summered as a law student with Giffen in 2017 and 2018, and subsequently completed his articles with Giffen in December 2019. Tyler was called to the Ontario Bar in January 2020. Tyler is member of the Waterloo Law Association, and sits on the committee for the Appeals Tribunal with the City of Waterloo. Tyler also volunteers his time as a coach with Kitchener’s minor hockey and baseball associations.

 

In his spare time, Tyler enjoys playing hockey, baseball, golf, and spending time with family and friends.
