Islam obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Jordan, graduating First Class in her cohort of 163 students. She later earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and completed her accreditation through the National Committee on Accreditation. Islam also completed the Law Practice Program at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she developed strong advocacy, drafting, and client communication skills.
Islam completed her articles with Legal Aid Ontario’s Duty Counsel Office, where she assisted clients with various legal matters in a high-volume courthouse environment. Through this experience, she developed a trauma-informed and client-centred approach to advocacy.
Upon her call to the Ontario Bar in 2025, Islam joined Giffen LLP as an associate in the Family Law department. She is committed to providing clear, compassionate, and practical advice and to helping clients navigate emotionally challenging situations with confidence, care, and feel supported and understood during difficult times.
Islam is fluent in English and Arabic and is proud to assist clients from diverse backgrounds with clarity and cultural sensitivity. She is a member of the Waterloo Region Law and the Canadian Muslim Lawyers Associations. In her spare time, Islam enjoys cooking, baking, contributing to community initiatives, and spending time with family and friends.
