Sofia is returning to Giffen LLP as a Junior Associate in the firm’s litigation department following the completion of her articles with the firm.
She earned her Dual Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and Detroit Mercy Law in Detroit, Michigan. Sofia also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph in Criminal Justice and Public Policy.
During law school, Sofia was actively involved in student leadership and advocacy. She served as Class Representative with the Student Bar Association and was awarded a Book Award for achieving the highest grade in her Advanced Advocacy course.
Originally from Mexico, Sofia immigrated to Canada and is fluent in Spanish. She maintains an active commitment to community service through her role on the Human Resources Board of Directors of the Child Witness Centre. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys practicing yoga and spending time with her family.
