Tyler is an associate in the firm’s corporate and commercial litigation department. Tyler’s clients rely on him to guide them through the complex world that is commercial litigation. Clients with matters ranging from debt collection, mortgage enforcement, shareholder disputes, lease disputes, and contractual disputes, generally, benefit from Tyler’s hands-on, practical and cost-effective approach to litigation. Tyler is frequently retained to protect the interests of those involved in the construction industry, and advises his clients on the various aspects of a construction project, including contract review, professional liability and deficiency claims, construction liens, construction trust matters, default and termination of a contract, and debt collection.

Tyler was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. Tyler attended the University of Western Ontario where he majored in Criminology and History and received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011. In 2016, Tyler attended the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree with a First Class.

While at law school, Tyler served on the committee for the University’s Pro Bono Group, and was the recipient of the University’s Outstanding Contribution to the Pro Bono Group Award on account of his contributions as chair of the Group’s Streetlaw project – a project which involved Group members going into the community to facilitate and deliver informative and interactive presentations and discussions on legal topics for schools and other community groups. Tyler was also active in the University’s athletic program, where he played goalie for the University’s hockey team.

Tyler summered as a law student with Giffen in 2017 and 2018, and subsequently completed his articles with Giffen in December 2019. Tyler was called to the Ontario Bar in January 2020. Tyler is an active member of the Kitchener-Waterloo community, and is a member of the Waterloo Law Association. Tyler also volunteers his time as a coach with Kitchener’s minor hockey and baseball associations.

In his spare time, Tyler enjoys playing hockey, baseball, golf, and spending time with family and friends.
